Audiobooks: Read to the Kiddos While You Drive…Seriously
The summer brain vacation is officially over for the kiddos. I gave them an entire week to watch as much TV, viral YouTube videos and Mine Craft as I could stand. A part of me felt guilty about letting them binge on TV and video games, like I was allowing them to eat cake for breakfast for a week. I can still see the kiddo’s brain cells dulling as their eyes darted across their screens. On the plus side I got work done peacefully. To make up for lost learning time (even though I know it was supposed to be a break) I plan to make the most of every summer moment hereafter. Learning during the day of course, but this weekend too as we will make a trip for Father’s Day. Truthfully we are not traveling very far – maybe an hour. But the kiddos can forget about spending all of that time scrolling through the music and games on their electronic devices – unless that is they are turning the pages on a e-book or listening to one.
Try these audio books while you are traveling. Some of the audiobooks for the younger kiddos are free.
