Fall 2014 Scholarships for Unique Skills and Talents

 

 

Choice Home Warranty $1,000 College Scholarship
Earn a $1,000 college scholarship with your winning essay!  Applicant may submit one essay on one of three topics about home.  The essay must be an original work, written exclusively by the applicant.  Applicant must be a high school senior preparing to enroll at an accredited two or four year college or university in the 2014-2015 school year, or a currently enrolled full time student at an accredited two or four year college or university.

Don't Text and Drive Scholarship
Must be a high school freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior or a current or entering college or graduate school student of any level. Home schooled students are also eligible. There is no age limit. You must also be a U.S. citizen or legal resident. Complete the application form below including a 140-character message about texting while driving. The top 10 applications will be selected as finalists. The finalists will be asked to write a full length 500- to 1,000-word essay about texting while driving. The winner will receive a $1,500 scholarship, and the runner-up will receive a $500 scholarship.

Technology Addiction Awareness Scholarship
The purpose of this scholarship is to help you understand the negative effects of too much screen time.  You must be a high school freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior or a current or entering college or graduate school student of any level. Home schooled students are also eligible. There is no age limit. You must also be a U.S. citizen or legal resident. Complete the application form below including a 140-character message about technology addiction. The top 10 applications will be selected as finalists. The finalists will be asked to write a full length 500- to 1,000-word essay about technology addiction. The winner will receive a $1,500 scholarship, and the runner-up will receive a $500 scholarship.

Create-A-Greeting-Card Contest

Submit original photo, artwork or computer graphics for the front of a greeting card.  Must be 14 years or older at time of entry and be enrolled in High School, College, University or Homeschool.  There will be one (1) Scholarship prize of $10,000 awarded (referred to as “the Scholarship”) and one $1,000 prize awarded to the winner’s school, an additional $1,000 prize will be awarded to one member of the Armed Forces selected from among all eligible Contest Entries.
