Jump Start Women’s History Month this Weekend

March is Women’s History month!  We are kicking off this month of celebrating women by acknowledging the many items, invented by women, that we use every day.  Here are a few I intend to share this weekend. Goooooo inspiration!

Before you set the alarm on the house this weekend, remind the kiddos that your home security system is thanks in part to Marie Van Brittan-Brown.

While the oldest is in the mirror, fixing her hair for what seems like the 100th time, and I am doing the youngest hair, I will let them know that Theora Stephen patented the curling iron.

As well as let my son know that he might not be able to brush his hair very well had it not been for Lyda Newman

Anyone of your kiddos got a paper to type?  Let them know Joanna Hardin’s Compurest keyboard stand is thanks to making their typing easier.

While you’re waiting for the toast to pop.  Tell the kiddos that Ruane Sharon Jeter created the digital toaster so that they could walk away if they needed to and not burn the toast.

Have a happy Weekend!
