Organizational Tips for the Multi-tasking Mama
I need as much help planning and preparing as possible in order to get out of the house on time. To get me to work and the kids to school without yelling, fussing and having to turn around for a book bag that we forgot yet again, risking tardiness for all, I need help! Since I have lost an hour in the day, and try as I may to find a way to get that extra hour back, I am challenged at times to get organized. Hopefully these organizing tips will help me save at least a few extra minutes in my day!
Organizational Tips for the Multi-tasking Mama:School Paperwork Storage (from iheartorganizing.blogspot.com) My cousin told me about this nifty organizational tip. If you have little ones then you get tons of work from school at the end of the week. Some things are cute, like portraits drawn in crayon with head size as the main indicator of who’s who in the picture. Some things are cute, but perhaps don’t qualify as a keepsake. For instance, pages and pages of scribbling’s of letters and numbers. I ‘file’ the ‘non-keepsake’ work carefully under other items in the trash can (shhh). School Paperwork Storage is where I put the other items I will want to look back at when I am 70 years old and the kiddos have long moved out.
Mud Room in Garage I don’t have a mud room, God knows I wish I did. But no worries, this idea to keep shoes organized at the door will definitely work for us. (from besimplyorganized.blogspot.com)
If you are handy, or know someone who is, this version of storage in a garage is also a great idea (from onecreativemommy.com)!
School and Homework Command Center (from besimplyorganized.blogspot.com) Our school supplies are, for the most part, stationed in a drawer in the kitchen. My school supply organization amounts to a gallon sized storage bag filled with new and broken pencils, a pencil sharpener, pens with no tops or vice versa and crayons. Paper is a whole other story. Paper ca be found in the office or two other spots that I may have the kiddos check. Shameful, I know. So instead we will try this neat idea!
Hair Bow Container (from diyncrafts.com) I don’t know about you but hair bows can test your ‘religion’ sometimes, especially if your are running behind. Ours tend to get all tangled up in the bag we use. So this is an excellent idea in order to cut down on the entanglement.
Laundry Time (from aninvitinghome.com) Does laundry take up a lot of your time? I can wash three loads of clothes a day – easy! Check out this moms tips on how to make laundry time in the house efficient (disclaimer: you must have kiddos 4 and older for this to work).
